HW Durham Foundation Grantmaking Program
Who can apply: Applicants must be charitable organizations with a current 501(c)(3) exemption or equivalent. Grants primarily support organizations serving older people in Memphis and the Mid-South, with funding generally limited to projects within roughly 100 miles of Memphis, Tennessee. National-significance projects that could be replicated locally may be considered. The Foundation does not make grants to individuals. Funding is generally not provided for building or construction expenses, operating expenses of established agencies including salaries, endowment campaigns or fund drives, scholarships except through an established program for senior students, biomedical research, or organizations discriminating based on age, race, color, creed, or sex. Grants are limited to one year at a time.
Deadline: Letters of Intent are accepted at any time. Formal application deadlines are March 1 for the April board meeting and September 1 for the October board meeting, or the first working day after those dates. The next stated grant deadline is September 1, 2026.
