The Harry Kramer Memorial Fund makes highly concentrated, targeted gifts: all recorded giving went to a single organization (Friends of Yashar Lachayal) in support of general operating. The pattern suggests a donor interest in backing a specific Jewish/Israel-related charitable effort — likely support for Israeli soldiers' welfare and related community services — rather than broad, diversified philanthropy.
Very concentrated giving to one repeated grantee; modest overall budget with 2 grants totaling $63,000, provided as general operating support rather than many small or geographically diverse awards.
The Harry Kramer Memorial Fund’s recorded giving is tightly centered on a single Jewish- and Israel-related service provider: Friends of Yashar Lachayal. That organization received the fund’s largest recent gift, $37,000 in 2025, followed by additional support of $26,000 in 2023 and $25,000 in 2024, all labeled general operating. This pattern gives the fund a clear profile as a grantmaker that backs a specific mission rather than a broad portfolio of causes. Beyond that core relationship, the fund has also supported a small set of Jewish communal and Israel-linked organizations, including American Friends of Israel Elwyn, New Israel Fund, Orthodox Union, and Chamah. The grants are mostly unrestricted or general operating in purpose, which points to a preference for helping recipient organizations cover ongoing organizational needs rather than project-specific costs. The fund also made gifts to social service and educational nonprofits such as Florida International University Foundation, Dr. Stanley and Pearl Goodman JFS of Broward, and Children’s Literacy Initiative, but the overall record remains highly selective. Based on the grants on file, the fund’s giving is national in scope and concentrated in named institutions that align with its recurring interests.
A primary theme in the Harry Kramer Memorial Fund’s giving is support for Israeli-soldier welfare through Friends of Yashar Lachayal, which received multiple general operating grants across 2023, 2024, and 2025. Another recurring theme is backing Jewish organizations with broader communal or service roles. American Friends of Israel Elwyn received $25,000 in 2024 and $25,000 in 2023, both for general support or general operating. The fund also extends support to Jewish umbrella organizations and related community institutions. New Israel Fund received $25,000 in 2023 and $20,000 in 2024, while Orthodox Union received $20,000 in 2025 and Union of Orthodox Jewish Congregations O received $15,000 in 2023. Outside that core Jewish/Israel focus, the fund has given to Florida International University Foundation, Children’s Literacy Initiative, Camillus House Inc, and Easter Seals South Florida Inc, each as general operating or general support grants.
The fund’s typical grant size sits in a fairly narrow band: the 25th percentile is $10,000, the median is $12,000, and the 75th percentile is $18,750. That matches a pattern of mid-sized, mostly unrestricted gifts rather than very small awards. The record also shows repeated giving to the same recipients across multiple years, especially Friends of Yashar Lachayal, American Friends of Israel Elwyn, and New Israel Fund, which suggests ongoing relationships rather than one-off awards. It does not fund individuals and does not make program-related investments. The public data provided does not indicate an application process.
