The Goldner Family Foundation concentrates its giving on local Orthodox Jewish congregational life in Los Angeles, providing substantial institutional support to established synagogues. Grants are directed to core community religious institutions (prayer houses/yeshiva-style batei medrash and neighborhood synagogues), suggesting a priority on sustaining day-to-day communal and worship infrastructure rather than broad secular causes.
Highly concentrated: very few, relatively large grants focused locally on faith-based congregational institutions; support appears targeted at core operating or institutional needs rather than many small grantees.
Notable grantees: Bais Medrash of Hancock Park, Young Israel of Los Angeles
Goldner Family Foundation Inc directs much of its giving toward Orthodox Jewish congregational life, with large grants to established prayer and study institutions in Los Angeles. The pattern is visible in repeated support for Bais Medrash of Hancock Park, which received $112,670 in 2024 and another $25,343 in 2025, alongside a $101,800 grant in 2025 to Young Israel of Los Angeles. Those awards point to a funder that backs the operating needs of core community institutions rather than dispersed, one-time projects. The foundation’s recent record also includes support for yeshiva-style learning environments and neighborhood synagogue infrastructure across Southern California and beyond. Grants to Maayon Yisroel, Yeshiva Gedolah of Los Angeles, and Chabad of Oxnard show a consistent emphasis on religious education, prayer, and communal services. Outside California, it has also made grants to synagogues and Jewish organizations in New York, New Jersey, Florida, and Israel-linked recipients, but the recurring theme is support for Orthodox Jewish life and the institutions that sustain it day to day.
A central theme is synagogue and prayer-house support. The foundation gave $112,670 to Bais Medrash of Hancock Park for institutional needs and $101,800 to Young Israel of Los Angeles, indicating direct backing for worship and congregation operations. It also funds Torah study and religious education. Grants include $25,000 to Yeshiva Ohr Eliyahu and $21,650 to Yeshiva Gedolah of Los Angeles, both of which align with the foundation’s recurring support for yeshiva-style learning settings. Community service and health-related Jewish organizations appear as well. The foundation awarded $36,360 to Bikur Cholim, $35,000 to Laniado Development Fund, and $18,000 to The Central Fund of Israel. These gifts show interest in care networks and communal support organizations alongside synagogue-centered giving.
Typical grants are modest relative to a few large institutional awards: the p25 is $250, the median is $509, and the p75 is $2,340. The distribution suggests a long tail, with many small grants and a smaller set of much larger commitments. The pattern also shows recurrence. Bais Medrash of Hancock Park, Maayon Yisroel, Yeshiva Gedolah of Los Angeles, Chabad of Oxnard, Jets, and Meomek Halev each appear in multiple years, indicating ongoing support rather than isolated gifts. The foundation is a private family foundation, and it does not fund individuals or make program-related investments. No application process is provided in the data.
