Who can apply: Applicants must have current tax-exempt status under Section 501(c)(3) and qualify as a public charity under Section 509(a)(1) or 509(a)(2). Projects must directly benefit Maine residents and support small, practical community improvements. Priority is given to projects serving Penobscot, Piscataquis, and Aroostook counties, although other Maine communities may be considered. Grants to governmental entities must be used exclusively for public purposes within the meaning of Section 501(c)(3).
Deadline: Applications are accepted on a rolling basis from January 1 through December 1 each calendar year.
