About Give to Research

Give to Research is built around a multi-year commitment to meditation science, with the largest recent grant in the dataset going to the University of California San Diego for research program support. That pattern points to a funder that backs sustained scientific infrastructure as well as individual projects, rather than one-off publicity grants. Its active programs center on the biological and physiological effects of meditation on the brain and body, with related interest in neuroscience, epigenetics, immunology, and mind–body medicine. The foundation’s recent grants show a strong emphasis on researchers and research programs. UC San Diego appears repeatedly across 2023, 2024, and 2025, including a $2,840,000 grant in 2024 and a $2,000,000 grant in 2025. Other recipients include the Florida Institute for Human & Machine Cognition and the Institute of Noetic Sciences, which received support for research projects and research program support, respectively. The structure of the grants suggests a funder that pairs large institutional commitments with targeted support for specific research efforts, while keeping the scientific scope tightly focused on meditation and related fields.

What Give to Research Funds

The clearest theme is meditation research. Give to Research funded the Florida Institute for Human & Machine Cognition with $155,560 in 2025 for research projects, showing support for applied scientific work tied to mind–body questions. It also supports research-program infrastructure. In 2025, the Institute of Noetic Sciences received $101,750 for research program support, and the Institute of Heartmath received $22,500 for research program support, both of which point to help for ongoing scientific capacity rather than a single isolated study. A third thread is fundraising and capitalization for research programs. Give to Give Foundation received $50,320 in 2025 for fundraising for program support, indicating that the funder also backs the administrative side of sustaining research activity.

How Give to Research Gives

Grant sizes are uneven and range from $76,035 at the 25th percentile to a median of $155,560, with a 75th percentile of $1,338,000. That spread reflects a mix of mid-sized project support and large institutional commitments. The recent record also shows repetition: University of California San Diego appears in 2023, 2024, and 2025, which signals recurring support rather than only one-time awards. Give to Research is a Pure DAF Provider, and the available grants are all listed as program support, research projects, or fundraising support. The program invites unsolicited applications in its research-grants offerings.
