The Foroulis Private Foundation focuses strongly on child- and youth-centered human services, with a clear emphasis on supporting vulnerable children (foster youth, abused children, and homeless youth), survivors of trafficking/abuse, and programs that help women gain economic stability and legal support. Grants are geographically split between Las Vegas/Nevada and the Capital Region (NY/CA area), and the foundation tends to make repeated, mission-focused grants to the same organizations rather than one-off gifts. Many awards fund direct service programs that provide shelter, basic needs, advocacy, and education support for low-income families and youth.
Foroulis Private Foundation repeatedly funds child and youth safety services, with multiple recent grants to Children’s Advocacy Center - Las Vegas for program support across 2023, 2024, and 2025. That recurring pattern is matched by other mission-aligned gifts for foster care support, anti-trafficking services, and women’s economic stability. The foundation’s recent giving shows a preference for direct service organizations rather than broad, general-purpose philanthropy, and several recipients appear more than once in the grant list. In Las Vegas, the foundation backed The Safe Nest and Children’s Advocacy Center - Las Vegas, signaling an ongoing interest in services for vulnerable children and families. In New York and California, it supported organizations tied to legal aid, employment support, shelter, and education for women and youth, including Capital District Woman's Bar Assoc, Capital Women’s Employment Resource, and Things of My Very Own. Shared Hope International and Children of the Night point to a sustained concern with exploitation and survivor recovery. The overall pattern is consistent with program support for organizations providing material assistance, advocacy, and specialized services.
A core theme is child protection and trauma response. The foundation gave $50,000 in 2025 to Children’s Advocacy Center - Las Vegas for program support, after similar grants in 2023 and 2024. It also funded Children of the Night in Los Angeles with $25,000 in 2023, 2024, and 2025, showing repeated support for survivor recovery. Another visible area is foster care and material assistance. Things of My Very Own in Schenectady received $25,000 in 2023, 2024, and 2025, while Foster Care Education Fund in Sacramento received $25,000 in 2023. Women’s legal and employment support also appears in the recent grants. Capital District Woman's Bar Assoc in Albany received $40,000 in 2023, $45,000 in 2024, and $45,000 in 2025. Capital Women’s Employment Resource in Albany received $25,000 in 2023, 2024, and 2025.
Typical grants cluster around a $15,000 median, with the 25th percentile at $10,000 and the 75th percentile at $20,000. Recent awards above that range, including $25,000, $35,000, $45,000, and $50,000, suggest a mix of standard operating support and larger multi-year commitments. The grant list shows repeated awards to the same organizations across multiple years, rather than isolated one-time gifts. The foundation is a private foundation, not a program-related-investment vehicle, and it does not fund individuals. The recent awards are labeled program support, which points to direct operating or programmatic funding rather than project-specific capital grants.
