General Support Grants
Who can apply: Organizations must have IRS tax-exempt nonprofit status, most often 501(c)(3), or operate under a U.S. tax-exempt fiscal sponsor. Organizations should be progressive and work in faith-related spaces, be openly welcoming and affirming, and not discriminate. The Foundation does not support individuals, businesses, for-profit entities, undergraduate scholarships, lobbying, political campaigning, or generally internal-facing church or house-of-worship projects without a pre-existing relationship. First-time grantees rarely receive multi-year grants or awards larger than $25,000. Renewal Requests are for current active grantees requesting the same grant purpose and an amount within 10% of the prior award.
Deadline: For the annual cycle, LOIs and Renewal Requests open April 1 and are due June 1; invited full applications are due September 1. For the 2026-2027 cycle, LOIs opened April 1, 2026, were due June 1, 2026, and full applications are due September 1, 2026. The next annual intake is expected to open April 1, 2027.
