The Eric Friedheim Foundation concentrates its philanthropy on postsecondary education, directing all recorded support to the University of Florida's fundraising arm. Grants are sizable and programmatic in nature, indicating a preference for bolstering higher-education institutions—likely with a regional focus on Florida/Jacksonville interests. The foundation appears to favor a small number of targeted, repeat gifts rather than broad diversification across causes.
Eric Friedheim Foundation Inc has a clear philanthropic center of gravity: postsecondary education, especially support for the University of Florida Foundation. The largest recorded gift in the recent grants list was $125,000 in 2023 to the University of Florida Foundation for general support, followed by another $70,000 in 2024 and $75,000 in 2025 to the university’s fundraising arm. That repeated pattern makes the foundation’s college giving easy to distinguish from its smaller cultural and community grants. Beyond higher education, the foundation shows a consistent interest in institutions that serve local audiences and public life. West Palm Beach Library Foundation received multiple gifts across 2023, 2024, and 2025, while Palm Beach Symphony and Palm Beach Dramaworks also appear in consecutive years. The recent record includes support for the local library, the local symphony, the arts, and collections at the Henry Morrison Flagler Museum. In each case, the grants are targeted rather than broad-based, with funding directed to named institutions and specific purposes. The foundation also made smaller grants to groups connected with travel, education trips, and environmental work, but its most visible pattern remains sustained support for one university and a limited set of Florida cultural organizations.
In higher education, Eric Friedheim Foundation Inc gave $125,000 in 2023, $70,000 in 2024, and $75,000 in 2025 to the University of Florida Foundation and The University of Florida Foundation Inc for general support and education. That makes postsecondary education the clearest theme in the record. The foundation also supports arts organizations in West Palm Beach. Palm Beach Dramaworks for Education received $15,000 in 2023 and 2024, and Palm Beach Dramaworks Inc received $15,000 in 2025 for the arts. Palm Beach Symphony Society Inc received $14,500 in 2025 to support the local symphony. Library and museum giving appears as another thread. West Palm Beach Library Foundation Inc received $10,000 in 2025 to support the local library, and The Henry Morrison Flagler Museum Inc received $5,000 in 2025 to support Whitehall and its collections.
Typical grant size is modest relative to the foundation’s larger institutional gifts: p25 is $5,000, median is $6,000, and p75 is $10,000. The record also includes several larger outliers, including $125,000, $75,000, and $70,000 to the University of Florida Foundation across three years. Recipients recur over time, especially in education and West Palm Beach cultural giving, which points to repeat support rather than one-time awards. The foundation is a private grantmaker with no program-related investments reported, and it also funds individuals.
