The EM Lynn Foundation is a highly concentrated, health-focused donor that directs most of its funding to local clinical care and translational medical causes in Boca Raton. Its giving is dominated by substantial, repeated support for Boca Raton Regional Hospital—notably the Heart and Vascular Center—alongside a secondary commitment to spinal cord injury research and services through the Buoniconti Fund. The foundation appears to prioritize capital and program support that directly strengthens regional patient care and specialty medical programs.
EM Lynn Foundation’s recent giving is anchored by repeated multimillion-dollar support for Boca Raton Regional Hospital Foundation, including grants for the Heart and Vascular Institute and Heart and Vascular Center, with additional funding for the Lynn Cancer Institute. That pattern points to a funder that backs clinical care, specialty hospital infrastructure, and adjacent medical programs in Boca Raton and nearby South Florida communities. The foundation also makes large commitments beyond the hospital setting, including support for The Buoniconti Fund to Cure Paralysis and Stetson University, which shows a mix of health, research, and education funding. Across the latest grants, the foundation’s scale is substantial. Several awards sit at the $3 million level, while other major gifts support nursing simulation, faculty retention, scholarships, and wellness and community organizations. The portfolio includes both capital-style support and program funding, alongside scholarship support at Lynn University and Stetson University. Grants to American Heart Association, YMCA of South Palm Beach County, Boca Helping Hands, and Life add further evidence of a locally focused funder that backs health-related, educational, and community-serving institutions within its Florida footprint.
In cardiovascular care, EM Lynn Foundation gave $3,000,000 to Boca Raton Regional Hospital Foundation for the Heart Vascular Inst and another $3,000,000 for the Heart and Vascular Ctr, showing sustained support for that specialty. The foundation also backed cancer services with $500,000 to the same hospital foundation for the Lynn Cancer Institute and $100,000 for the Wellness Inst Cancer Center. Its education-related grants include $500,000 to FAU Foundation Inc for Nursing Simulation and $250,000 to FAU Foundation for Faculty Retention. Medical and allied health training is also reflected in the $250,000 gift to FAU Foundation Inc for Faculty Retention and the broader support for scholarship-oriented programs at Stetson University and Lynn University. Outside the hospital and university setting, the foundation gave $820,000 to The Buoniconti Fund to Cure Paralysis for General support and $100,000 to Boca Helping Hands for General support.
Typical grants are modest to mid-sized relative to the foundation’s biggest awards: p25 is $2,500, median is $8,000, and p75 is $25,000. The recent list also shows repeated large commitments at the upper end, including several $3,000,000 grants. The giving pattern is recurring rather than one-off, with Boca Raton Regional Hospital Foundation, FAU Foundation, Lynn University, Stetson University, and The Buoniconti Fund all appearing across multiple years. EM Lynn Foundation is a private foundation that also funds individuals, and it does not make program-related investments.
