About Douglas S Witcher Family Foundation
Douglas S Witcher Family Foundation’s recent giving shows a strong preference for large capital commitments in education and community-serving institutions. In 2025, the foundation made a $4,000,000 grant to Caldwell Academy in Greensboro for an education capital campaign and a $3,000,000 grant to High Point University for an education capital campaign. Those two awards alone account for most of the year’s top-end support and place education at the center of the foundation’s public grant record. Beyond schools, the foundation backed public-safety and community infrastructure in High Point with a $500,000 grant to the High Point Police Foundation for a mobile command center. It also supported local service organizations and institutions tied to neighborhood life, including Tag for community engagement programming and Communities in Schools of HP for community outreach. The grant record also includes support for medical capital needs, religious programming, youth athletics, scholarships, and family services, indicating a portfolio that mixes major project funding with recurring community support. The foundation funds both organizations and individuals, and its recent grants include scholarship support for college students as well as assistance for families and patients. Its 2025 record reflects a broad local orientation, with many awards tied to High Point-area institutions and community needs.
