Local Grantmaking

Who can apply: Must be a public charity with 501(c)(3) status for at least 3 years; based in the USA; one application per organization; joint/collaborative proposals accepted; government agencies may not apply directly; universities and colleges eligible; request must not exceed 30% of the organization’s annual budget; only charitable, education, or scientific purposes; organizations with a long-standing Dorrance family commitment are prioritized for some support.

Deadline: Submitted grant request forms are reviewed every 30-60 days; full proposals are reviewed beginning in September; proposals received after September 15 are considered the following calendar year.
