The D'Agostino Family Foundation (Westport, CT) has a highly focused giving profile, with its lone recorded grant supporting Homes With Hope, a nonprofit addressing homelessness and transitional housing. This suggests the foundation prioritizes direct support for local housing and shelter services, likely aimed at helping vulnerable individuals and families in its community. The foundation appears to make targeted, possibly one-off gifts rather than broad, diversified grantmaking.
Concentrated and local: one mid-size grant to a single nonprofit (suggesting targeted, relationship-driven support rather than dispersed or multi-year commitments).
D'agostino Family Foundation C/o Vincent R D'agostino Trustee gives unrestricted operating support, with its largest recent grant going to Homes With Hope in Westport for $25,000. That award sits within a compact pattern of repeat support for Connecticut nonprofits, especially organizations serving housing, recovery, and community needs. Homes With Hope appears more than once in the recent grants list, alongside other Westport-area awards, which points to a foundation that stays close to a small set of local partners rather than spreading gifts broadly. The foundation’s recent activity shows a mix of larger $20,000 and $15,000 gifts and a steady stream of smaller $5,000 to $10,000 grants. Several recipients are based in Fairfield County and nearby Connecticut cities, including Bridgeport, Norwalk, Southport, Hartford, and Fairfield. It also supports a limited number of organizations outside the state, but its profile remains centered on Connecticut-based nonprofits. The recurring general operating support language across the grants suggests a preference for core funding over project-only awards.
Housing and shelter are a clear theme in the foundation’s giving. In 2025, it gave $25,000 to Homes With Hope for general operating support, and it also supported Bridgeport Rescue Mission with $15,000 in 2025, $15,000 in 2024, and $10,000 in 2023 for general operating support. Behavioral health and recovery appear as another focus. The foundation gave $10,000 to Nami in Hartford in 2023, followed by $5,000 grants in both 2024 and 2025. Recovery Community Development in Norwalk received $20,000 in 2025 for general operating support, showing attention to recovery-related services as well as mental health support. The foundation also funds faith-based, community, and service organizations. Examples include $20,000 to Greene Farms Cong Church in Westport, $20,000 and $10,000 to India Collective in Southport, and $5,000 to Horizons Sacred Heart University in Fairfield.
Typical grants cluster around a modest midrange: p25 is $5,000, the median is $10,000, and p75 is $15,000. The recent list also includes several $20,000 awards and one $25,000 grant, so the foundation uses a narrow size band rather than large outliers. The same recipients recur across multiple years, including Homes With Hope, Bridgeport Rescue Mission, India Collective, Nami, Yellowstone? no; and Zion? no. Grants are structured as general operating support, which points to flexible core funding rather than project-restricted awards. The foundation is a private family foundation and does not make program-related investments or grants to individuals.
