Choate Bridges Foundation concentrates its funding on large, targeted humanitarian-assistance investments in established regional institutions. Grants are high-dollar and focused — split evenly between a community foundation serving the Chattahoochee Valley and a specialty medical rehabilitation charity — indicating a preference for strengthening local safety-net and health-related capacity. The foundation demonstrates repeat support for at least one health-focused grantee, suggesting ongoing partnerships rather than wide dispersal of small grants.
Choate Bridges Foundation (fka Cbf Foundation) makes large, targeted humanitarian-assistance grants to established regional institutions, with a recent $500,000 award to the Community Foundation of the Chattahoochee Valley in Columbus, Georgia. That pattern sits alongside repeated support for Shepherd Center Foundation in Atlanta, which received $250,000 in both 2024 and 2025. The foundation’s recent giving is not dispersed across many small awards; instead, it favors concentrated support for organizations that can deliver humanitarian response, strengthen community capacity, or provide specialized care through trusted local entities. The grant record shows a strong preference for organizations operating in Georgia and the surrounding region, while also including institutions in Tennessee, Alabama, South Carolina, Washington state, and Maryland. Within that regional frame, the foundation has backed community-facing intermediaries such as community foundations, relief organizations, hospitals and medical charities, schools, and university foundations. Its repeat grants to a small set of recipients point to ongoing relationships rather than one-time transactions. For a researcher, the clearest takeaway is a funder that uses sizable grants to reinforce local safety-net and humanitarian infrastructure through established partners.
One clear theme is community capacity and regional relief. In 2025, Choate Bridges Foundation (fka Cbf Foundation) gave $500,000 to Community Foundation of the Chattahoochee Valley for humanitarian assistance, a grant that places a community foundation at the center of its response. Health and rehabilitation is another repeated area. Shepherd Center Foundation in Atlanta received $250,000 in 2024 and another $250,000 in 2025 for humanitarian assistance, and the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation received $75,000 in both 2024 and 2025 after a $75,000 grant in 2023. The foundation also supports local service organizations. Street Grace received $100,000 in 2023, 2024, and 2025, while North Fulton Community Charities received $50,000 in 2023, 2024, and 2025. These recurring awards show a pattern of sustained support for established community providers.

The recent record also includes larger, strategic awards well above that range, which suggests selective use of higher-dollar grants for specific partners. The foundation appears to favor recurring relationships over one-off gifts. Several recipients show up in multiple years, including Shepherd Center Foundation, Street Grace, Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, North Fulton Community Charities, and My Journey Matters. It does not make program-related investments and does not fund individuals, pointing to a conventional grantmaking structure centered on organizations rather than direct support to people.
