Champions of Love Foundation makes a small number of very large grants to organizations that combine faith-based service with social justice, recovery, and workforce-reintegration programming. Their giving favors hands-on social enterprises, church-linked community centers, and institutions that serve survivors, formerly incarcerated people, and low-income families. Grants are national in scope but include clear support for local Boston-area faith and community organizations.
Champions of Love Foundation Inc makes some of its largest gifts to faith-linked organizations working at the intersection of education, reentry, and social service. In 2025, the foundation gave $2,050,000 to Epiphany School Inc in Dorchester, followed by $2,021,694 to Thistle Farms Inc in Nashville, Tennessee, and $2,009,345 to Love Does Parade in San Diego. Those grants sit alongside repeated support for organizations centered on recovery, community care, and restorative practice, including Homeboy Industries and Equal Justice Initiative. The pattern suggests a funder that backs institutions with clear operating missions and direct service models rather than one-off projects. The foundation’s portfolio also includes church-based and neighborhood-based organizations such as Roxbury Presbyterian Church Social Impact Center in Boston and Proyecto Pastoral in Los Angeles, plus food and homelessness support through groups like Healthcare for the Homeless Program and God’s Pantry. Education is another visible thread, with sizable support for parish and faith-based schools. Across the recent grants list, Champions of Love Foundation Inc combines major operating gifts with long-running commitments to organizations serving survivors, formerly incarcerated people, children, and low-income communities.
Faith-based education is one of the clearest themes in the recent grants. Champions of Love Foundation Inc gave $2,050,000 to Epiphany School Inc in Dorchester and $700,000 to Saint Cecilias Parish School in Boston, with both grants recorded as general support. Community-centered faith work also appears in support for Roxbury Presbyterian Church Social Impact Center, which received $1,100,000 in 2025 after a $500,000 grant in 2023. The foundation also backs organizations focused on social reintegration and justice. It awarded $2,000,000 to Homeboy Industries and $2,000,000 to Equal Justice Initiative in 2025, following earlier $1,000,000 gifts to each in 2023. Recovery and transitional employment show up in grants to Thistle Farms Inc, while food access appears in the $1,000,000 grant to God’s Pantry.
Typical grants cluster around a mid-six-figure range, with a p25 of $10,000, a median of $25,000, and a p75 of $50,000. The recent list also shows a small number of outsized awards in the $1 million to $2 million range, indicating a highly uneven distribution. The foundation is a regular funder with no program-related investments and no individual giving. Recipients recur across multiple years: several organizations appear in both 2023 and 2025, including Epiphany School Inc, Thistle Farms Inc, Equal Justice Initiative, Homeboy Industries, Campaign for the Fair Sentencing of Youth, and the Roxbury Presbyterian Church Social Impact Center. Grants are listed as general support, which points to flexible operating backing rather than tightly restricted project funding.
