The Boruta Nancy & Roman Family Foundation concentrates local Houston support on faith‑affiliated early childhood education projects, regional visual and performing arts organizations, and targeted healthcare/medical equipment needs. They favor practical, tangible gifts — building and facility support for an early learning program, operating support for small arts institutions, and specific hospital equipment — often funding the same local organizations more than once.
Boruta Nancy & Roman Family’s largest recent grant went to Atlas Ministry Inc for an early learning facility building fund, which captures the foundation’s pattern of backing tangible, project-based work. Their recent grants also show repeated support for the same organizations, including Atlas Ministry Inc and the Steffen Thomas Museum of Art, alongside a smaller set of medical and cultural gifts. The foundation’s giving is centered on practical needs: early childhood facility development, NICU equipment, operating support for arts groups, and charitable support for local institutions. The portfolio includes both a building-focused award and a hospital equipment grant, indicating that the foundation is willing to fund capital needs as well as targeted purchases. In the arts, it has supported the Houston Ballet Foundation and the Steffen Thomas Museum of Art, with the latter appearing more than once. The recent pattern suggests a regional grantmaker that favors specific, defined uses over broad unrestricted funding, and that returns to select recipients when a project or operating need remains in view.
Early childhood infrastructure is a clear theme. Boruta Nancy & Roman Family gave Atlas Ministry Inc $30,000 in 2025 for an early learning facility building fund, and it also awarded the same organization $10,000 in 2024 for the same purpose. That pairing points to support for construction or expansion rather than general program activity. Healthcare giving is more targeted. In 2024, the foundation granted $25,000 to St Mary's Foundation for two kangaroo chairs for NICU, a restricted purchase tied to infant care and parent-infant bonding. The arts also appear as a recurring area: the foundation gave $10,000 to Steffen Thomas Museum of Art for operating support, and a separate $25,000 award to the museum was listed as charitable. A cultural grant also went to Houston Ballet Foundation for charitable support in 2025, showing that the foundation’s arts funding includes both visual and performing arts organizations.
Typical grant size sits at $12,500 at the 25th percentile and $25,000 at both the median and 75th percentile, which shows a cluster around mid-sized awards with a smaller lower tier. The recent record also includes a $30,000 grant at the high end. The same recipients appear more than once, especially Atlas Ministry Inc and Steffen Thomas Museum of Art, so the foundation does repeat support. Grants are made through a family foundation structure, not to individuals, and the available data show project-restricted and operating-style awards rather than an application-based program.

Giving is regional and stays entirely within the United States. Georgia is the top state by grant count, with grants to Greensboro and Buckhead. Texas also appears through Houston, while Michigan appears through Grand Rapids. Four of the seven recent grants went to recipients outside Texas, which fits a regional pattern rather than a purely local one. The recent list shows repeated activity in Georgia and selective support in Texas and Michigan.
The foundation most often funds early childhood facility development, small arts organizations, and targeted hospital needs. Recent grants include support for an early learning facility building fund, NICU equipment, and operating or charitable support for arts groups.
