About Arthur L Bud Johnson in Memory of Elaine V Johnson Foundation
Arthur L Bud Johnson in Memory of Elaine V Johnson Foundation concentrates its recent grantmaking on nature conservation and assistance animals, with large project grants going to wildlife and conservation institutions as well as guide-dog organizations. The pattern is visible in repeated support for groups such as Association of Zoos and Aquariums and The Seeing Eye, each appearing more than once in the recent grants list. Other recipients include organizations tied to zoos, aquariums, land trusts, and species-focused conservation work, indicating a preference for specialized institutions rather than broad, general-purpose philanthropy. The foundation’s giving also includes work connected to habitat restoration, endangered species, and public-facing conservation education through organizations that operate nationally or across regions. Assistance-animal grants sit alongside conservation grants in the same portfolio, with priority given to guide dogs and other animals trained to assist people who are visually impaired or physically handicapped. Across the recent record, the grants are substantial enough to support program-level work and long-term projects, and the recipient list suggests a narrow set of mission areas that are funded consistently over time.
