About Xander Schauffele Family Foundation
The Xander Schauffele Family Foundation predominantly funds golf-related programming, especially regional junior golf associations and initiatives that use golf for youth development, diversity, and veteran support. While most dollars support golf education and access—often targeted to women, people of color, and military veterans—the foundation also makes occasional grants outside sport (notably reproductive health care). Grantees are primarily regional organizations and specialized golf nonprofits rather than broad national charities.

Giving Approach
Concentrated portfolio: a large share of funding goes to a small number of golf-focused organizations (one single large grant and several repeat or multi-year gifts to regional junior golf groups). Gifts are a mix of one-time mid-sized grants and smaller recurring awards, with clear thematic concentration on golf access and diversity and occasional outlier grants to health nonprofits.
About Xander Schauffele Family Foundation
The Xander Schauffele Family Foundation’s clearest pattern is golf grantmaking with a youth-development emphasis, especially for junior associations and organizations that use golf to widen access for women, people of color, and military veterans. In the 2023 grants list, the largest award was $153,748 to SCGA Foundation for golf education, followed by $32,728 to San Diego County Junior Golf Association for golf education and $30,000 to Planned Parenthood of the Pacific Southwest for health care access. That mix shows a foundation centered on golf but not limited to it. The foundation also supports organizations tied to specific participation barriers and community needs. Women of Color Golf received two grants of $5,252 and $5,003, while The Salute Military Golf Association received $9,022 and $5,680. Smaller awards also reached junior golf groups in California and Nevada, reinforcing a pattern of program-focused support rather than broad unrestricted philanthropy. The overall picture is a funder that backs golf as a vehicle for education, inclusion, and service-connected support, with occasional grants outside sport when the issue aligns with access to care.

Youth golf development is the strongest thread in the grant record. The foundation gave $153,748 to SCGA Foundation for golf education and $32,728 to San Diego County Junior Golf Association for golf education, both tied to structured junior golf programming. Access and inclusion are another visible theme. Women of Color Golf received $5,252 and $5,003 for golf education, pointing to support for participation by women and people of color. In a similar lane, The Salute Military Golf Association received $9,022 and $5,680 for golf education, linking golf to veteran-focused programming. The foundation also extends beyond sport in at least one grant. Planned Parenthood of the Pacific Southwest received $30,000 for health care access, showing that the giving program includes reproductive and women’s health care alongside golf-related work.
How Xander Schauffele Family Foundation Gives
The 2023 grant record shows a typical grant size clustered in the low thousands: p25 was $5,003, median was $5,252, and p75 was $9,556. That distribution sits alongside one much larger award, which pushes the annual total upward. Several organizations appear more than once in the same year, including North County Junior Golf Association, Women of Color Golf, The Salute Military Golf Association, and Michigan Women’s Golf Association, indicating repeat support rather than single one-off gifts. The foundation is a private family foundation, not a fund that gives to individuals, and the grant descriptions point to program/project funding rather than general philanthropy.
