The Tommy and Trudy Williams Foundation makes small, targeted gifts to Sanibel/Captiva-area civic and community nonprofits, favoring general operating or charitable support. Their funding centers on local community associations, service clubs, and neighborhood cultural institutions that benefit island residents and visitors.
Highly localized and concentrated: a small number of mid-sized grants focused on a handful of repeat and regionally prominent organizations rather than broad or national giving.
The Tommy and Trudy Williams Foundation’s largest recent grant was $54,600 to the Sanibel Community Association in 2023, a signal of how closely the foundation’s giving is tied to Sanibel and Captiva civic life. Across its recent filings, the foundation makes small, targeted gifts that favor charitable and educational support for local institutions serving island residents and visitors. Its grant list includes repeat support for the Rotary Club of Sanibel-captiva, Fish, and the Bailey Shell Museum, alongside gifts to community groups such as Cca and Captiva Foundation. The foundation also backs organizations outside its core island cluster when they fit its educational pattern, including Riverfield Country Day School in Tulsa. Grant purpose labels show a mix of charitable, charitable contribution, and educational support, with a strong emphasis on community associations, service clubs, direct assistance, and neighborhood cultural institutions. The foundation’s recent activity suggests a donor that uses modest grants to reinforce a small set of local nonprofits over multiple years rather than spread funding broadly.
The Tommy and Trudy Williams Foundation’s giving reflects a narrow set of community-oriented priorities. In local civic life, it supported the Sanibel Community Association with $4,800 in 2025 after a much larger 2023 gift, showing continued backing for neighborhood coordination and resident services. Service clubs also appear in the record: the Rotary Club of Sanibel-captiva received $18,915 in 2025, following $20,400 in 2024 and $4,450 in 2023. Direct support for island residents shows up through Fish, which received $10,350 in 2024 and $3,000 in 2023. Cultural and educational support is present through the Bailey Shell Museum, with awards of $9,000 in 2025, $6,000 in 2024, and $2,500 in 2023. The foundation also made educational gifts to Riverfield Country Day School in Tulsa for three consecutive years.
Typical grant size is small: the 25th percentile is $1,000, median grant size is $2,750, and the 75th percentile is $6,250. The recent record shows repeat grants to the same recipients across multiple years, including several organizations that reappear from 2023 through 2025. That pattern suggests ongoing support rather than one-time project funding. The foundation’s recent grants are labeled charitable, charitable contribution, or educational, and the profile indicates a regional giving scope. It does not fund individuals and is not identified as making program-related investments.
