About Buck Foundation
The Buck Foundation pairs college-scholarship giving with local operating support in Rogers and nearby Northwest Arkansas. Its recent grant list shows two clear lanes: larger support grants to community organizations and a steady stream of awards to students in Rogers-area schools and colleges. In 2025, the foundation gave $30,000 to Rogers Development Foundation and $20,000 each to NWA Humane Society and NWA Food Bank, alongside scholarship awards such as $8,000 to Hailey Day and $8,000 to Nick Lamson. The foundation’s scholarship work is especially structured. Legacy Awards are designed for students who need up to $5,000 in added financial aid for the coming academic year, while the Pride Scholarships are renewable awards for graduating seniors from Rogers High School and Rogers Heritage High School. Rogers Academy of Leadership Scholarship supports one graduate from Rogers Academy of Leadership and Innovation each year, and Upperclassmen Scholarships help students already in college continue toward completion. That mix points to a funder that supports both immediate educational access and ongoing student retention. Beyond scholarships, the Buck Foundation also funds organizations tied to community well-being, including preschool, animal welfare, hunger relief, and youth-serving nonprofits.
What Buck Foundation Funds
Education is the foundation’s central focus, with scholarships built for different stages of the pathway to college. Legacy Awards provide gap funding of up to $5,000 for the upcoming academic year, and Upperclassmen Scholarships support students in their first through third year of college. The foundation also backs school-specific leadership awards. One example is the Rogers Academy of Leadership Scholarship, a $4,000 annual renewable scholarship for a graduating senior from Rogers Academy of Leadership and Innovation. Community support reaches beyond student aid. The Buck Foundation gave $12,000 to First Friends Preschool and $10,000 to the Children’s Advocacy Center of Benton Co, showing support for early childhood education and youth-serving services. It also made grants to the NWA Humane Society and NWA Food Bank, linking its local giving to animal welfare and food assistance.
How Buck Foundation Gives
Typical grants are modest: the 25th percentile is $2,000, the median is $3,500, and the 75th percentile is $6,000. The recent-grants table also shows repeated awards to the same scholarship recipients across multiple years, including awards in both 2024 and 2025, which suggests recurring scholarship relationships rather than one-time support. The foundation funds individuals directly and also uses organizational support grants, with no program-related investments reported. Legacy Awards accept unsolicited applications, while Discretionary Scholarships and Upperclassmen Scholarships are awarded at the foundation’s discretion or require annual reapplication.
