The Robert Gluck Family Foundation concentrates its giving on Chicago-area Orthodox Jewish institutions and communal services, prioritizing synagogue support, yeshiva education, and local Jewish charity. Grants are large and targeted rather than broad-based, often made repeatedly to the same core institutions that serve religious, educational, and charitable needs in the Jewish community.
Concentrated, locally focused giving: a small number of relatively large grants, multiple repeat awards to the same core grantees rather than many one-off gifts.
Notable grantees: Congregation Agudath Israel, Agudath Israel of Illinois, Chicago Chesed Fund, Telshe Yeshiva
A single $285,000 grant to Congregation Agudath Israel anchors the Robert Gluck Family Foundation’s recent giving and points to a funder that concentrates on Orthodox Jewish communal life rather than broad thematic programming. Across the latest grants list, the foundation supports synagogues, yeshiva education, Jewish day learning, and local chesed organizations, with most recipients in Chicago and nearby Illinois communities. Its pattern is practical and institution-focused: grants go to organizations that serve religious, educational, and charitable needs within the Orthodox Jewish community. The foundation’s support for Agudath Israel of Illinois, Chicago Chesed Fund, and several Chicago schools and yeshivas shows a consistent preference for organizations embedded in community infrastructure. In the recent record, the foundation funded both advocacy and umbrella work through Agudath Israel of Illinois and direct service through Chicago Chesed Fund, while also backing schools such as Telshe Yeshiva, Joan Dachs Bais Yaakov, Bais Yachov High School, Yeshiva Tiferes Tzvi, Yeshiva Ohr Boruch, and Yeshiva Eitz Chaim. The result is a grantmaking profile centered on Orthodox Jewish institutions that combine education, religious life, and communal support.
In synagogue support, the foundation made a $285,000 grant to Congregation Agudath Israel for non-specific purposes, and it gave another $35,000 to the same congregation in 2023. That repeated support suggests a sustained relationship with a key Orthodox institution. For communal and advocacy work, it awarded $84,000 to Agudath Israel of Illinois in 2024 and $25,000 in 2023. It also gave $61,800 to Chicago Chesed Fund in 2024 and $10,000 the year before, indicating attention to local social support alongside umbrella advocacy. Education is another clear area. Recent school grants include $40,000 to Telshe Yeshiva, $15,000 to Bais Yachov High School, $15,000 to Joan Dachs Bais Yaakov, and $10,000 grants to Yeshiva Tiferes Tzvi, Yeshiva Ohr Boruch, and Yeshiva Eitz Chaim.
Typical awards sit in a fairly tight band: the 25th percentile is $10,000, the median is $12,500, and the 75th percentile is $36,250. The recent record also includes a large outlier at $285,000, alongside many grants at $10,000 to $15,000. The foundation appears to support a recurring set of organizations over multiple years, with several recipients appearing in both 2023 and 2024. Granting is direct and institution-based, not individual-based, and the foundation does not make program-related investments. No application process is shown in the provided data.
