About Reed Jules Oppenheimer Foundation
A defining feature of the Reed Jules Oppenheimer Foundation is its repeated use of unrestricted general-operations grants, with large awards recurring to the same partners over multiple years. The clearest example is World Earth Allies, which received $100,000 in 2025, $46,500 in 2024, and $50,000 in 2023, all marked general operations. Another major recurring recipient is New Community Project, which was awarded $70,000 in 2023, then $35,000 in both 2024 and 2025. The pattern points to flexible support for organizations already doing work the foundation wants to sustain rather than project-specific financing. The foundation gives across environmental restoration, community development, education, and related social-benefit work. Recent awards also include $50,000 to Hawaiian Legacy Reforest, $50,000 to Yale University, and $50,000 to Culver Educational Foundation, showing that its portfolio includes both grassroots groups and institutional beneficiaries. Tulsa-area organizations also appear in the grant list, including Mainsprings Jbfc Foundation, Oklahoma Appleseed Center, and Street School. Across the recent grants sample, the common thread is support for organizational capacity and mission continuity through general operating grants.
