The Nicholson Dimes Foundation concentrates its giving on evangelical Christian ministry and outreach, with large gifts to organizations that run campus ministry, evangelism training, and faith-based leadership programs. Grants are few but substantial and appear aimed at sustaining national or international evangelical initiatives rather than local secular causes.
Highly concentrated giving: a small number of relatively large grants, often to national evangelical organizations and ministry training groups; repeat or long-term relationships are suggested by sizable single donations rather than many small grants.
Nicholson Dimes Foundation’s largest recent grant was $100,000 to Generation One in Houston, a signal that its giving is built around sustaining Christian ministry organizations rather than one-off projects. Across the recent record, the foundation repeatedly backs evangelical outreach, campus ministry, and faith-based leadership work through grants intended to help organizations fund their charitable mission and endeavors. That pattern shows up in multiple grantees. Campus Crusade F received two grants in 2023 totaling $36,217, while Cru Foundation received $17,000 in 2025 and another $8,835 the same year. Evangelism Explosion International also received $22,500 in 2025, and Evangelism Explosion received $10,000. The foundation’s support extends beyond campus evangelism to ministries such as 1557 Ministries, Mission India, New Covenant Missions, and Africa New Life Ministries, indicating a portfolio centered on evangelistic and missionary organizations rather than a single institution. The grant list also includes Texas-based ministries and faith-oriented nonprofits such as Stch Ministries, Project One Love, and Petra Cares, alongside organizations in Florida, North Carolina, and other states. The overall picture is of a foundation making relatively few but meaningful grants to organizations advancing evangelical Christian work.
Campus evangelism is one clear thread. Nicholson Dimes Foundation gave $23,000 to Campus Crusade F in Orlando and later added $17,000 and $8,835 to Cru Foundation, also in Orlando, showing repeated support for college-ministry infrastructure. Evangelistic training and outreach is another. The foundation granted $22,500 to Evangelism Explosion International in Arden and $10,000 to Evangelism Explosion in the same city, both intended to support charitable mission and endeavors. It also funds ministry organizations with broader faith-based programming. Examples include $100,000 to Generation One in Houston for its charitable mission and endeavors, $19,550 to 1557 Ministries in Houston, and $10,800 to Mission India in Grand Rapids. Those grants suggest an emphasis on organizational support for Christian ministry work rather than narrow program grants.
Typical awards cluster around five figures: the 25th percentile is $6,332, median grant size is $10,000, and the 75th percentile is $18,275. The recent record includes both larger mission-support grants and smaller gifts around $3,000 to $5,000. Grants appear to recur across years for some recipients; Campus Crusade F, Mission India, Mission X Mission, Here I Am Orphan Ministries, Africa New Life Ministries, and Cru Foundation all appear more than once. The foundation is structured as a private foundation making grants for charitable mission support, and the provided data does not indicate an application process or unsolicited submission route.
