The Liberty Cablevision Puerto Rico Foundation focuses its giving locally in Puerto Rico, concentrating on building economic opportunity and conserving natural resources. Its largest grant supports entrepreneurial education and event-driven capacity building for Puerto Rican small business founders, while a substantial second grant funds agroecology and public nature-trail programming. The foundation appears to prioritize practical, place-based investments that combine workforce/economic development with environmental stewardship.
A $380,000 grant to Enterprize Events Inc Grupo Guayacán stands out in Liberty Cablevision Puerto Rico Foundation Inc’s recent grantmaking because it links entrepreneurial education with event-driven support for Puerto Rican founders. That emphasis on practical business capacity shows up alongside other large awards, including $150,000 to Para La Naturaleza for agroecology and self-guided hiking trails and $100,000 to Instituto Nueva Escuela for support services to public Montessori schools. The foundation’s pattern suggests a place-based strategy in Puerto Rico that connects economic opportunity, education, and environmental stewardship. Its portfolio reaches across youth development, disability services, survivor support, arts and culture, and scholarships, but the common thread is direct support for organizations serving residents of Puerto Rico. Recent grants also include funding for children and youth from vulnerable communities, services for gender-based violence survivors, and programs for children with disabilities. The foundation’s giving is mostly local, with Puerto Rico receiving the great majority of awards, and its recent records show repeated support for some organizations across multiple years, indicating an ongoing relationship with selected grantees rather than one-off gifts only.
Entrepreneurship and business development are central to the foundation’s giving. A $380,000 grant to Enterprize Events Inc Grupo Guayacán supported educational services to entrepreneurs in Puerto Rico, making it one of the clearest examples of its economic-opportunity focus. Education appears in several forms. The foundation gave $100,000 to Instituto Nueva Escuela for education and support services to public Montessori schools, and $25,000 to Boys & Girls Clubs De Puerto Rico for after-school services for children from vulnerable communities. It also funded scholarships through Kinesis Inc for college students who practice sports with the Jasmine Camacho-Quinn Sports Scholarship. Environmental work is another recurring theme. A $150,000 grant to Para La Naturaleza supported agroecology and self-guided hiking trails, aligning with the foundation’s interest in natural-resource conservation and community access to outdoor spaces. Social services also appear in the portfolio. Funding to Fundación Sila M Calderón supported CE-Transforma Center work for gender-based violence survivors reaching economic self-sufficiency.

Highly concentrated: very few, relatively large grants targeted to Puerto Rico-focused organizations; funding split between entrepreneurship/educational services and conservation programming rather than many small or widely distributed grants.
Notable grantees: ENTERPRIZE EVENTS INC GRUPO GUAYACAN, Para La Naturaleza
Typical awards cluster in the $10,000 to $25,000 range, with a p25 of $10,000, median of $20,000, and p75 of $25,000. The recent record also includes larger program grants at $50,000, $100,000, $150,000, and $380,000, showing a tiered approach rather than a single grant size. The foundation appears to make repeated awards to some organizations across years. Instituto Nueva Escuela and Kinesis Inc both appear in multiple grants, and several 2023 recipients reappear in 2025, which points to ongoing relationships. It funds individuals as well as organizations, and it does not make program-related investments.
Grantmaking is overwhelmingly concentrated in Puerto Rico: 83% of grants go to recipients in the HQ state, and Puerto Rico is also the top state by grant count. San Juan appears frequently, along with Rio Piedras, Ponce, Vega Alta, Loiza, Arecibo, Mayagüez, Santurce, and Sabana Seca. Outside Puerto Rico, the foundation has also funded recipients in St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands, and West New York, New Jersey. All grants in the dataset are in the United States.
Its recent grants support entrepreneurs, public Montessori schools, after-school youth services, gender-based violence survivor services, children with disabilities, arts and music groups, and environmental organizations. The portfolio also includes scholarships for college students and support for community-based programs in Puerto Rico.
The grant-size distribution centers on modest awards: p25 is $10,000, median is $20,000, and p75 is $25,000. The recent record also shows larger grants of $50,000, $100,000, $150,000, and $380,000.
No. Puerto Rico accounts for 83% of grants, but the record also includes recipients in St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands, and West New York, New Jersey. All grants in the dataset are within the United States.
Yes. Instituto Nueva Escuela appears in both 2023 and 2025, and Kinesis Inc appears more than once in the recent grants list. That pattern suggests ongoing relationships with some grantees rather than purely one-time awards.
Three clear patterns are entrepreneurship support, education, and environmental stewardship. The record includes a $380,000 grant for entrepreneur education in Puerto Rico, $100,000 for public Montessori school support, and $150,000 for agroecology and self-guided hiking trails.
