The Charitable Trust UWO Elizabeth K. Dollard concentrates support on Jewish communal and Israel-linked institutions, medical research and specialty healthcare (notably cancer), and higher-education fellowships/student support. Grants are large, often six-figure awards, split between New York–area service providers and major U.S. universities and Israeli rehabilitation projects, reflecting both local community philanthropy and investments in medical/academic excellence.
A defining feature of Charitable Trust Uwo Elizabeth K Dollard’s giving is its dual emphasis on Jewish communal support and medical philanthropy. Recent awards show large commitments to New York-based service organizations and to health institutions working on cancer research and fellowship support, alongside grants tied to rehabilitation projects in Israel. The foundation’s 2025 grant to Jewish National Fund - US for a rehabilitative center in Israel sits alongside support for Selfhelp Community Services Foundation’s student recruitment and retention program, showing that its priorities extend from community services to education and care infrastructure. Medical giving is another consistent thread. Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center received support for the Dollard-Lubcher fellowship, and Duke University School of Medicine received general support, indicating interest in both research and training. The grants are typically sizeable, often in the six-figure range, and they go to a mix of service providers, hospitals, and universities rather than a single type of institution. That pattern suggests a funder balancing local New York community needs with targeted support for specialized medical and rehabilitation work.
Jewish communal services are central to the foundation’s portfolio. Self Help Community Services received $220,000 for general support in 2023, and Selfhelp Community Services Foundation received $200,000 in 2025 for student recruitment and retention programming. Rehabilitation work is another clear theme: Jewish National Fund - US received $200,000 in 2025 for a rehabilitative center in Israel, while Adi Israel Foundation Inc received $169,762 in 2024 for a rehabilitative center in Israel. Medical philanthropy appears through institutional support for research and training. Memorial Sloan Kettering received $150,000 in 2023 for general support, and Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center received $100,000 in 2024 to support the Dollard-Lubcher fellowship. The foundation also backs academic medicine, including Duke University School of Medicine, which received general support in 2024 and 2025.
Grant size is concentrated in the six-figure range: the 25th percentile is $99,798, the median is $120,000, and the 75th percentile is $184,881. The pattern in the recent grants shows repeated support to the same institutions across multiple years, including Selfhelp Community Services Foundation, Memorial Sloan Kettering, and Duke University School of Medicine. That points to recurring relationships rather than one-off awards. The foundation is a private trust and funds individuals, which fits the fellowship support seen in the grant list. The available data does not describe an application process.
