The Andrew Jergens Foundation appears to be a Cincinnati-centered community foundation focused on improving outcomes for children, youth, and families through education, behavioral health, and basic needs supports. It repeatedly funds local nonprofits working on school readiness, literacy, student success, trauma-informed care, family stabilization, food access, and legal/advocacy services. The portfolio suggests a strong preference for established Greater Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky organizations, especially those serving vulnerable children and low-income families.
Andrew Jergens Foundation’s public grant record is shaped by a small number of concentrated awards, including two very large distributions routed through PNC Bank and described only as “SEE ATTACHED STATEMENT.” That pattern points to a foundation that uses an intermediary to administer at least some of its giving, with public filings withholding the ultimate recipient detail for those largest grants. Beyond those bank-routed entries, the foundation’s named grants show steady support for Cincinnati-area and nearby Northern Kentucky organizations serving children, students, families, and youth with education, behavioral health, housing, and residential care needs. The 2023 grants include support for Springer School and Center, Literacy Network of Greater Cincinnati, Central Clinic Behavioral Health, and Redwood School & Rehabilitation, alongside a broad set of smaller awards in the same region. The named recipients suggest an emphasis on direct service organizations, school-based support, and therapeutic or family-stability programs rather than a single narrow issue area. In the available record, the foundation’s giving appears local, highly concentrated in Ohio, and focused on institution-level support rather than individual aid.
Education is a visible thread in the named awards. The foundation gave $25,000 to Springer School and Center for “Support Advancing Success,” and $20,000 to Literacy Network of Greater Cincinnati for “Support Queen City Book.” It also gave $15,000 to Learning Grove Inc for “Support Expansion Of,” and $12,000 to St Aloysius Orphanage for “Support Educational.” Youth development and after-school support also appear repeatedly. Hamilton Living Water Ministry received $15,000 for “After School, Summer,” while Axis Teen Centers received $15,000 for “Support Life Skills Program.” Stepping Stones Inc received $12,500 for “Saturday Clubs for Children,” which signals programming for children outside the regular school day. Behavioral health and therapeutic care are another clear theme. Central Clinic Behavioral Health received $20,000 for “Support Increasing Access,” Tikkun Farm Inc received $15,000 for “Trauma-Informed,” and Milestones Inc received $12,000 for “To Support The Therapeutic.”
The recorded grant sizes cluster tightly around a median of $12,000, with a 25th percentile of $9,500 and a 75th percentile of $15,000. The file also contains two much larger bank-routed awards, which sit far outside that middle band and suggest occasional high-value distributions alongside smaller institutional grants. In the available recent-grants list, the same year dominates the named activity, while the largest public entries are routed through PNC Bank and labeled generically. That pattern is consistent with concentrated, intermediary-administered giving rather than a broad open application stream. The foundation does not fund individuals and does not make program-related investments.

Moderately concentrated giving with many repeat grantees and a clear tilt toward multi-year support for local core partners; grants are generally modest in size and spread across a broad network of service providers rather than a few very large awards.
Notable grantees: Springer School and Center, Central Clinic Behavioral Health, Inter Parish Ministry, Legal Aid Society of Cincinnati, Children’s Hunger Alliance
The giving is highly local: 81% of grants go to recipients in Ohio, and the top grant-count state is OH. Named recipients cluster in Cincinnati, with additional awards in Covington, Fort Mitchell, Independence, and Hamilton in the Greater Cincinnati area. Outside Ohio, the foundation also supports nearby Northern Kentucky organizations, including Covington and Fort Mitchell. All recorded grants in the dataset go to U.S. recipients.
The named grants point to schools, youth-serving nonprofits, behavioral health providers, and family-stability organizations. Examples include Springer School and Center for educational support, Central Clinic Behavioral Health for access to care, and Welcome House of Northern Kentucky for a capital campaign. The record also includes residential treatment, after-school programming, and housing-related support.
Very concentrated. The dataset shows 81% of grants going to Ohio recipients, and the named awards are clustered in Cincinnati and nearby Northern Kentucky cities such as Covington, Fort Mitchell, Independence, and Hamilton. The overall record is also dominated by a small number of grants rather than many scattered awards.
No. The foundation’s profile indicates it does not fund individuals. The grant record instead shows organizational awards, including school, health, youth, and housing nonprofits.
The middle of the distribution is small and consistent: the 25th percentile is $9,500, the median is $12,000, and the 75th percentile is $15,000. The named grants in the record mostly fall within that range, even though the file also contains two much larger bank-routed distributions.
The public record suggests intermediary-administered giving through PNC Bank for the largest awards, which are labeled “SEE ATTACHED STATEMENT.” The named grants are targeted organizational awards, and the dataset does not show individual grantseeking or program-related investments.
