Global science education funding usually goes to big programs with big budgets. This one pays for a single local event that brings neuroscience to the public, in regions where resources or public understanding of the brain are limited.

What we know: IBRO administers the program in partnership with Dana. It funds outreach projects organized for Brain Awareness Week in countries outside Europe. Payment comes in two parts: 80% arrives two months before the event, and the remaining 20% follows the final grant report.
Realistic fit: university neuroscience groups, science museums, and community science organizations ready to run a defined public event during Brain Awareness Week.
The dollar amount is modest, so the application should be too. Draft a one-page event plan with a date, venue, audience, and budget before you open the IBRO form, and confirm your country is in an eligible region. If you know a neuroscience outreach group in Africa, Latin America, or Asia/Pacific, send this their way.

Three arts and culture grants worth a look: McKnight Foundation (rolling), CLIR Digitizing Hidden Collections (Oct 20), and IWMF Buffett Fund for Women Journalists (rolling).
Youth sports grant on a rolling basis: Stephen D. Menzies Rising Youth Athletics Foundation (open year-round, US).
Harm reduction grants: AIDS United Harm Reduction Futures Fund, pre-application survey due September 25.
