Projects requiring tax funds from a governmental body must have prior formal approval.
Who can apply: Must be an eligible organization under CCDA policy (e.g., 501(c)3, certain other tax-exempt or governmental units); project must be physically located within Clinton County, Iowa; organization must not discriminate illegally; must be in compliance with prior CCDA grants; applications benefiting specific individuals, operating costs, deficit spending, debt retirement, private for-profit enterprises, political campaigns, multiple-year grants, and other ineligible uses are not allowed. Projects requiring tax funds must have prior governmental approval. Applicants may submit up to 2 applications per semi-annual pool and may not exceed two open grants at one time.
Who can apply: Applicants must be established and incorporated 501(c)(3) nonprofit entities with their own IRS tax-exempt status; fiscal sponsorships are not accepted. Funding is prioritized for nonprofits located in or near Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and may also consider nonprofits in or near UFG branch communities (Phoenix, Rocklin, Westminster, Ewing, Webster) as funds allow. The Foundation does not fund religious organizations, political efforts, or school-system clubs/entities such as boosters or PTAs. Organizations that have applied must wait 12 months before reapplying. Organizations cannot receive both a UFG Foundation grant and UFG sponsorship dollars in the same year.
