Who can apply: Organizations must be legally registered, financially transparent (non-profit status or declared ownership, formal annual accounts), editorially independent and adhere to professional editorial standards (distinguish opinion/news, fact-checking, editorial policies). Publishes news reporting in print or online (scripted audio/video up to 30 minutes). Cannot defend cases in countries without independent legal systems, though applications from those operating in restrictive environments or in exile are welcome.

Deadline: No fixed application deadline — membership applications are accepted on an ongoing basis.
