Woodsmith Foundation Limited is a place-based funder focused on leaving a lasting legacy in the communities around the Woodsmith Mine, especially Scarborough, Redcar & Cleveland, and the North York Moors National Park. It supports local charities, VCSE infrastructure, community-led projects, youth development, health and well-being, and practical help that reduces disadvantage. The foundation appears especially interested in projects that build community capacity, improve opportunities for young people, and deliver visible local benefit through both small, quick-turnaround grants and larger, longer-term awards.
