¿Quién puede postularse? Projects must advance climate or environmental protection and be carried out in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern or, in special cases, on and before the Baltic Sea coasts of the Baltic littoral states. The foundation prefers self-developed projects. For volunteer projects, no restrictive content or size limits are stated. For professionally led organizations, only additional project-related costs are eligible; general overhead and regular staff costs are excluded. A meaningful own contribution is often expected, typically 30% to 50% for some project types. Public/state measures and general donations are excluded.

Förderrichtlinien sind in den „Fördergrundsätzen" beschrieben; über Eigenanteile entscheidet der Vorstand im Einzelfall.
