Rainforest Trust Support Grants
¿Quién puede postularse? Applicants must be legally registered, non-government organizations authorized to conduct work in the country of the proposed project. Projects must aim to create or expand a protected or conserved area and meet Rainforest Trust project criteria, including support from governments and Indigenous/local communities where relevant, sustainable management, and threat mitigation. For Indigenous/community tenure projects, substantial community management authority is required. For land purchase projects, the land must be likely to be converted without purchase and alternative strategies must not be feasible or effective. For marine projects, the area should show strong biodiversity or carbon value and enabling conditions for MPA creation.
Fecha límite: Protected or Conserved Area Creation Awards of $250,000 and above are due March 1, July 1, and October 1; concept notes are accepted anytime; Feasibility Awards and awards under $250,000 are accepted on a rolling basis.
