Das Internationale Islamische Stiftungswerk – Bildung und Kultur (IISW) fördert vor allem Projekte, die interkulturellen Dialog, ein weltoffenes Islamverständnis sowie den Austausch zwischen islamischer und westlicher Kultur stärken. Typisch sind kleine bis mittlere, stark thematisch gebundene Förderungen für Ausstellungen, Übersetzungen, Bildungs- und Integrationsprojekte sowie künstlerische Formate mit Bezug zu Muslim:innen in Deutschland. Besonders häufig unterstützt IISW praktische Projekte vor Ort, darunter Ausstellungen mit Leihgaben aus der eigenen Sammlung, Sprachförderung, Stipendien und community-basierte Initiativen.
