Syringe Services & Community-Based Harm Reduction Programs Grantmaking Program
Who can apply: Applicants must be exempt from federal tax under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code and must not be classified as private foundations under section 509(a). Tribal governments and organizations using a fiscal sponsor are welcome to apply. Organizations should have total organizational budgets below $600,000, be grounded in harm reduction principles and practice, provide access to safer-use supplies through syringe services or community-based harm reduction programs, and have operated the relevant program for at least one full year. Priority is given to organizations led by people who use drugs and/or Black, Indigenous, and people of color, organizations serving areas with limited safer-use supply funding or few comparable programs, and organizations addressing high HIV, HCV, injection drug use, or overdose rates.
