Allendale Grant Program

Who can apply: Applicants must be charitable organizations recognized under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. The foundation may also award grants to units of government, educational institutions, and churches providing services that benefit the Allendale community.

Deadline: Fall 2026 Grant Round: September 11, 2026 application deadline; late November 2026 notification.

Community Impact Grant Program

Who can apply: Applicant must have current 501(c)(3) status, be a unit of government, or a religious or educational institution; serve Northwest Ottawa County or greater West Michigan; address one or more foundation grantmaking priorities; and connect with the Grants and Program Team before starting the preapplication form.

Deadline: Spring 2026 pre-application due February 4; application due March 25; Summer 2026 pre-application due May 13; application due July 1; Fall 2026 pre-application due August 5; application due September 23.

Environment

Who can apply: Projects should center on preservation of natural green space and smart land use planning, address critical water quality issues, or promote environmental sustainability through alternative energy initiatives and recycling projects.

Technical Assistance (Capacity-Building Grants)

Who can apply: Designed for nonprofit agencies seeking support for capacity-building activities. The foundation recommends discussing the project before applying. Certain uses are not eligible, including general operating support, equipment/hardware, construction or rehabilitation, emergency repairs, payroll needs, debt liquidation, and routine financial audits.

Deadline: 1st Monday of every month

Community Impact — Education Grants

Who can apply: Projects should address barriers preventing students from pursuing post-secondary opportunities, improve access to academic, social, and emotional resources, or support access to and participation in quality preschool programs, particularly in underserved populations.

Community Impact — Economic & Community Betterment Grants

Who can apply: Projects should support cooperation among municipalities, especially in recreation, transportation, and consolidated planning, or support revitalization and beautification of commercial areas.

Community Impact — Health & Human Services Grants

Who can apply: Projects should support access to physical and mental health services, promote healthy lifestyles and relationships, address priorities from community needs assessments and community health improvement plans, support locally endorsed health initiatives, or address human needs for underserved populations.

Community Impact — Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Grants

Who can apply: Projects should address equity, diversity, and inclusion within the community, involve and empower the inherent worth and dignity of all people, or promote and sustain a sense of belonging within the community.
