About this grant
Responsive grants supporting meaningful, hands-on opportunities for underserved school-age children to explore and learn outdoors, deepen respect for nature, promote stewardship, and improve physical and emotional well-being.
Who can apply
Applicants must be IRS-recognized 501(c)(3) organizations in good standing under Section 501(c)(3) and 509(a)(1 or 2), or work through a qualifying fiscal sponsor. Programs must benefit communities in Northern California or Hawaii. Organizations may submit only one application per calendar year. Spring grants are open only to recent grantees since 2020; Fall grants are open to all qualified organizations. Grants do not support solely religious functions, political bodies or campaigns, individuals, foreign organizations, loans, or debt repayment. Funding does not support agriculture/garden projects, animal therapy, or outdoor sports without a specific nature-connection emphasis.
