Who can apply: Projects must have an explicit objective to improve the lives and livelihoods of women within developing countries, particularly young women and girls. APF prefers local organisations with on-the-ground presence, strong credibility, sound governance, measurable outcomes, transparent assessment, and a self-sustaining exit strategy. The foundation generally does not support individuals or organisations with explicit political or religious objectives, and typically does not provide programme grants under USD 30,000 except in special circumstances.
