Who can apply: Eligible objects are formally protected cultural monuments in Germany, especially those owned by private persons, nonprofit private institutions, religious communities, municipalities or counties. Applicants may be owners or authorized users (e.g., lessees, hereditary building right holders), nonprofit sponsoring associations or foundations, and in special cases technical experts for individual services. A written owner consent is required if the applicant is not the owner. The project must be at risk without special support; funding is discretionary and no legal entitlement exists.

Deadline: Applications for the following year must be submitted by 31 August each year; decisions are made in the first quarter of the year.
