Project Funding

Who can apply: Applicants must generally hold a doctorate at least four years before submission, or have equivalent research experience; be able to lead research projects independently; make a substantial contribution to the project; be employed at least 50% at an SNSF-eligible research institution for the project duration (or have written assurance); and have the necessary infrastructure. Applicants employed outside Switzerland are only eligible in Lead Agency, Weave, or International Co-Investigator Scheme contexts. Institutional eligibility is assessed under SNSF and Swiss research funding law; some non-commercial institutions outside higher education may be assessed case by case.

Deadline: Generally 1 April and 1 October each year.
