Who can apply: Applicants must have a protected cultural monument in Germany. Eligible applicants include owners or authorized users (e.g. leaseholders, hereditary building right holders), nonprofit managing associations, and foundations; in some cases specialists for individual services. The project must be legally and monument-authority approved, financially planned, and focused on preserving original substance. The applicant must contact the foundation by phone before applying and submit a formal written application with the required supporting documents.
Deadline: Annual deadline on 31 August for the following year; disaster-related applications can be submitted year-round.
