Who can apply: Eligible objects must be formally protected cultural monuments in Germany. Applicants may be owners or authorized holders (e.g., lessees, hereditary leaseholders), nonprofit sponsoring associations, or foundations; in special cases, specialists may apply for individual services. A written application is required, and the property owner must agree if they are not the applicant. Projects must have required planning, heritage, and building approvals; the owner must also have exhausted available financing sources and the project must be monument-compatible and feasible.
Deadline: Annual deadline: 31 August for the following year; decisions in the first quarter of the following year. Emergency assistance for disaster-damaged monuments can be requested year-round.
