Who can apply: Eligible applicants are owners or authorized holders (e.g., tenants, hereditary building right holders), nonprofit sponsoring associations, or foundations; in special cases, experts for individual services. The object must be a formally listed protected cultural monument in Germany, and the applicant must submit required permits, a preservation authority statement, costs, financing plan, photos, plans, and building history. The applicant is expected to seek all available financing sources and obtain an initial telephone consultation before applying.

Deadline: Applications for the following year must be submitted by 31 August; applications for monuments damaged by disasters may be submitted year-round.
