Who can apply: Eligible projects are formally protected cultural monuments in Germany. Applicants must generally be owners or authorized holders (e.g., leaseholders, hereditary building right holders), nonprofit operating associations, or foundations; in special cases, specialists may apply for individual services. The property owner must consent in writing if the applicant is not the owner. Funding is primarily for monuments in private, nonprofit, religious, municipal, or county ownership. Applications are reviewed for monument value, urgency, substance preservation, public interest, and a realistic financing plan.
Deadline: Annual application deadline: 31 August for funding in the following year; catastrophe-damaged monuments can apply year-round.
