Denkmalförderung (financial grants for the preservation of cultural monuments)

Who can apply: Eligible projects are formal listed cultural monuments in Germany, especially those owned by private individuals, nonprofit private institutions, religious communities, municipalities, or districts. Applicants may be owners or other authorized holders; non-owners may apply with written owner consent. Funding is based on need, threat level, public interest, and demonstrated ability to complete the project, and applicants must exhaust other available financing sources.

Deadline: Annual application deadline: 31 August for funding in the following year; catastrophe-damaged monuments may apply year-round.
