Who can apply: Eligible projects are formally protected cultural monuments in Germany, especially those owned by private persons, private nonprofit entities, religious communities, municipalities or counties. Applicants may be owners, authorized possessors (e.g. leaseholders, hereditary building right holders), nonprofit sponsoring associations or foundations; non-owners may apply with the owner's written consent. The project must be endangered without special help, be well prepared, and include required heritage and construction approvals.

Deadline: Annual deadline for applications by 31 August for the following year; disaster-damaged monuments can apply year-round.
