Small grants programme
Who can apply: UK-registered nonprofit organisation; annual income between £25,000 and £500,000; at least two years of activity; less than six months unrestricted free reserves; project total cost not exceeding £50,000; at least two years since any previous unsuccessful application; previously funded organisations may reapply two years after the end of the last award; excludes individuals, public bodies, organisations mainly distributing grants, political organisations, capital expenditure except certain heritage conservation/restoration, food waste/food insecurity/food poverty organisations, and organisations with consistent late reporting regulatory history.
Deadline: Applications open by theme in 2026/27: May for Environment and Countryside; August for Education and Heritage & Conservation; February for Social Inclusion and Health & Wellbeing. Precise dates are announced two weeks before each window opens.
