Who can apply: Eligible projects must be formally protected cultural monuments in Germany. Applicants can be owners or authorized holders (e.g. tenants, leaseholders), nonprofit operating associations, or foundations; non-owners may apply with written owner consent. Projects are assessed by urgency, heritage significance, public interest, and the extent of original-substance preservation. Required conditions include prior consultation, formal application, listed monument status, and relevant heritage/building approvals.

Deadline: Annual deadline: 31 August for funding in the following year; decision in the first calendar quarter of the following year. Damage from disasters can be applied for year-round.
