FRS Community Grant Program
Who can apply: Applicants must be nonprofit organizations, schools, community groups, municipalities, or other organizations serving a rural community in an NTCA member company's service area. Applications must be submitted by an NTCA member partner, which may submit up to three proposals. Applicants that received FRS funding within the past two years, individuals, for-profit businesses, international organizations, and projects involving overhead, lobbying, religious activities, infrastructure campaigns, vehicles, debt repayment, and other listed exclusions are ineligible. FRS prioritizes projects that can be fully funded by the $5,000 maximum or are at least 75% funded, are technology or broadband enabled, have long-term impact, promote engagement, or support sustainability. NTCA members provide a 20% match.
Deadline: 2026 applications are due September 4, 2026; grants are awarded in the fall, generally in November.
