Those grants sit alongside support for endowment-style and named funds such as the Rick Steves' Europe Fund, the Taylor Family Fund, and the Human Services Endowment. The foundation’s work touches arts and culture, human services, education, youth support, and community and economic development. Recent awards also show support for local infrastructure such as libraries, music projects, and mentoring programs. The result is a grantmaker that moves between high-dollar community investments and targeted support for organizations serving children, families, seniors, and residents throughout Snohomish County and nearby places.
In arts and culture, the foundation backed Stanwood Camano Arts Advocacy Commission with $2,870,900 for Stanwood Camano Arts Council, and later supported Snohomish County Music Project with $275,573 for the Snohomish County Music Project/Schack Endowment.
