Åke Wibergs stiftelse is a Stockholm-based Swedish foundation that funds research and initiatives supporting the care and education of children and young people. Its strongest emphasis is on early-career medical researchers in Sweden, while also backing humanities and social science projects through publication support, conference funding, project grants, and fellowships. The foundation appears to favor organized, programmatic support with clear thematic lanes rather than broad general operating grants.

How to approach this funder
Plan to apply during the annual June 1–September 15 window and tailor proposals tightly to the foundation’s three program areas. Medical research applicants should be group leaders who earned their doctorate within the past ten years and based in Sweden; children and youth grants are for organizations; humanities applicants can seek publication, conference, project, or fellowship support, including some nomination-based opportunities.
