STScI Observing Proposals (Hubble, JWST, Roman)
A resource program from Association of Universities for Research in Astronomy
This is not a grant
Association of Universities for Research in Astronomy provides donated goods or services here, not funding. Nonprofits receive items or support directly rather than money, so there is no award to spend. If you're looking for cash funding, this program won't provide it.
About this program
STScI (operated by AURA for NASA) solicits peer-reviewed observing proposals and awards observing time and associated resources for Hubble, the James Webb Space Telescope (JWST), and the Nancy Grace Roman Space Telescope. Awards allocate telescope time and mission resources to successful scientific programs; STScI also supports related archival research, data access via MAST, and community-facing programs tied to these missions.
Who can apply
Researchers (international community) may submit proposals following STScI guidelines; proposals are peer-reviewed and awarded based on scientific merit and technical feasibility. Eligibility details and PI/institution requirements are described in STScI's annual call for proposals.
